Community surveyS

In October 2024, we surveyed residents in Lower Snug and Coningham.

We wanted to learn about what matters to our local community, so that our projects, initiatives, and advocacy work aligns with local residents’ priorities.

in february 2026, we surveyed the residents of Snug and Electrona.

Thanks to all who took part in our 2026 survey. The focus on Snug and Electrona/Peggys Beach helps us understand the issues at top of mind in these neighbourhoods.

The 2024 survey let us know what matters to you.

Generally, residents in Lower Snug and Coningham:

  • strongly support the Greater Snug Safe Paths Project, improved pedestrian safety, and safe highway crossings

  • support advocacy for improved bus services

  • wish to maintain a natural and ‘non-urbanised’ feel to their neighbourhood

  • support Landcare activities and coastal planting

  • value bushfire awareness and fire management.

The 2026 survey results had lots in common with the 2024 survey, but a few distinct themes emerged:

Generally, Snug and Electrona residents:

  • have a big focus on traffic problems, particularly around the IGA and the main intersection in Snug

  • strongly support improved pedestrian and cycling safety

  • support a shelter/pavillion at the main crossroad

  • strongly support CAGS working with Tasmania Parks & Wildlife Service in the Coningham Nature Recreation Area

  • strongly support the Scouts Regatta at Snug Bach

  • want improved dog management on local beaches.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, concerns, and ideas with us.
